IMORDEN 6.5ft Carbon Fiber Camera Jib: Setup Guide and Review

This jib is great for travel purposes and for use with smaller cameras. It is lightweight due the carbon fiber construction, and packs neatly into the small case. The case fit comfortably into my larger suitcase and I was able to bring this along on a recent trip and get some great dynamic footage.

The jib is best suited to smaller cameras like the Sony a7 series, or the Panasonic GH4. Even smaller DSLR's should be fine on this system. Larger DSLR's like the Canon 5D Mark III with larger lenses begin the push the weight limits.

Motion of the jib is solid and smooth. Keep in mind that you will need a sturdy set of tripod legs, and a video fluid head. The video fluid head will allow you to pan the jib, as it does not come with a pan bearing built in.

While the jib will extend to a full 6.5 feet, I find it performs better when it is not fully extended. Just reducing the length by as little as 6 inches makes the entire jib much more stable and controllable.

Overall I think this is a great little lightweight kit. It comes with a quick release, a tripod bowl adapter, and 3 1kg weights. Being able to just grab this bag and toss it into my suitcase means I know I can break it out and get some great crane shots while on the road!
